Object Manipulation
- Completely Hierarchical Model Database and User Interface. All modeling and object manipulation functions operate directly on one or more hierarchically attached objects.
- Built-in Primitives. Choose from a wide selection of geometric primitives, including box, cone, cylinder, disc, prism, rectangle, sphere, superquadric ellipsoid and superquadric toroid. The latter two can produce an unlimited number of variations.
- Powerful 3D Extruded Fonts. Create beautiful extruded 3d TrueType fonts using an intuitive font creation "wizard". Full control over font type, material assignment and character placement. Assign 2d textures per-letter, per-word or per-phrase. Geometry grouped for easy manipulation by the Selector Window. Automatically adds floors and walls, sets up the camera, places lights, assigns textures, creates the shadow map files and computes the reflection map images.
- Object Manipulation. Translate, scale and rotate objects in perspective space just like you would in the real world! Work in world-space, object-space or screen-space. Single objects, multiple objects or complete hierarchies can be manipulated simultaneously.
- Automatic Polygon Processing. Weld vertices, unify polygon orientations, unify normals, create vertex normals (smooth data). Indispensable for import and rendering DXF files and other raw polygon data.
- Polygon Manipulation Functions. Move selected polygons to a new object, delete selected polygons, explode object by assigned materials, manipulate hierarchy.
- Porcupine Function. Vertex normals and vertex tangents can be viewed for each object. Useful when optimizing the geometry of an object.
